Join My Baby Picture Movement!

Thea-3yrsOldI have this idea.

We’re all running around acting like we’re oh-so-grown up, when in reality we’re just little children trying to get by in a scary world.

We go about our day-to-day lives, interacting with each other, disparaging those who bother us and snipping at those we love when tensions run high.

What if we were required to wear a photo of ourselves around our necks.? A picture that captures when we were young and innocent . . . and totally loveable. This is mine.

Then, when we had that urge to lash out at someone, we would see their baby picture and we’d realize, that’s who they really are. Behind the scowl or rude behavior or whining.

What if every time we lashed out at ourselves — my inner dialogue often goes like this: “You idiot! You’re so fucking lame! Why did you do/say that? LOSER!” — we instead glanced down at our baby photo and spoke to ourselves like we would to that child?

We could change the world with Baby Pictures!

P.S. I’d love to see a photo of you as a little kid, too, just in case you ever piss me off. 😉

  1. Genius. But I may not be ready for such enlightenment. I don’t want to see Rush Limbaugh ‘ s baby pix. I just want to hate him.
