About Me

Dorothea with flowersWelcome! I’m Dorothea

After years of struggling with anxiety, daily headaches and TMJ Disorder, I discovered Tension & Trauma Releasing Exercises (TRE®). I felt so much better — calm, relaxed, pain-free — that I decided to become a Certified TRE® Provider. Now I’m excited to share this gentle healing modality with you. When you relax, you feel better and enjoy life more! (Learn more and sign up for classes here)

I’m also a Play Specialist. As a member of the Applied Improvisation Network, I draw on my training in improv comedy and theatre to teach games to adults in non-theatrical settings. When you remember how to play, you feel more confident and creative!

As a Speaker and Performer, I use stories and characters to help audiences process personal and universal trauma. I’ve toured a solo show about my exodus from religion, and performed in church basements and atheist conferences. When you reaffirm the goodness in yourself and and others, you feel more connected and hopeful!

Finally, after losing my dog Kali, I wanted to support other pet parents facing end-of-life decisions for their pets. I became a Book Author and wrote Saying Goodbye to Your Dear Dog: 10 Questions to Help You Decide When It’s Time to Euthanize. When you realize your heart is bigger than your hurt, you feel more clarity and love.

My Mission

To joyfully contribute to humanity’s evolution away from fear toward love … by helping people relax, remember how to play, and reaffirm the goodness in themselves and others.
