Bio – Dorothea Deley
Las Vegas-based Dorothea Deley writes and performs comedy that makes us laugh—and think—about how we treat each other. Colorado comedian Nancy Norton said about Dorothea’s last solo show, “Thanks for being so vulnerable and putting your heart and soul out there for us all to have some healing opportunities!”
She toured her last solo show, “Jesus Loves You! (But Hates Me)” across the West, from an Atheist conference in Salt Lake City to a Baptist church in Denver. She’s also performed sketch comedy at the Flamingo Resort in Las Vegas, comedic storytelling at the City of Las Vegas’ StorySLAM, and stand-up comedy at Flappers Comedy Club in Burbank, CA.
Dorothea co-founded the improv/sketch comedy group Cardio Spider, which the Neon Museum awarded its Spring 2017 Performing Artists-in-Residence. Both the Vegas Theatre Hub and ComedySportz Las Vegas selected her for their inaugural improv house teams.
When she’s not onstage, Dorothea helps people relieve stress, build resilience, and heal trauma. A certified TRE® provider, she incorporates improv games and humor into her classes and Calm the ‘F’ Down workshops. She believes healing can be fun.
“My Decade of D!CKS: A Love Story” was developed in Make A Show with Shannan, a workshop designed and led by Shannan Calcutt (performer/director for Spiegelworld and Cirque du Soleil productions).
